The Golden Rule Trading and Playing Cards - Rules

1. Introduction

The Golden Rule Trading Card Game is a strategic card game for two or three players. It combines skill, strategy, and a bit of luck. These rules provides detailed instructions on how to play the game.

2. Game Objective

The objective is to score the most points over 4 hands by playing cards from your hand.

3. Components

  • A deck of Golden Rule cards, each with different point values and some with multipliers (x2, x3).

  • Score sheets for tracking points (optional).

 

4.Game Setup

  1. Deck Preparation: Players can use either a personal deck or a communal deck. Shuffle the deck thoroughly before playing.

  2. Drawing Cards: Each player draws 15 cards from the deck. In personal deck play, shuffle each other's decks before drawing, to prevent deck stacking.

 

5. Gameplay

  1. Number of Hands: The game consists of 4 hands.

  2. Card Play: Player’s alternate playing one card at a time, face-up, for three rounds per hand.

  3. First Player: Each game’s starting player is determined by drawing the highest point card from the deck. Shuffle the card back into the deck afterward. Alternate the starter at each hand.

 

6. Scoring

  1. Hand Scoring: After 3 cards are played by each player, count the points. The player with the higher score wins the hand and earns a 25-point bonus. Do not reuse cards already played in a game.

  2. Multipliers: Cards with x2 or x3 multiply the total points for that hand.

  3. Game Winner: After 4 hands, the player with the most total points (including bonuses) wins the game.
